Colorado’s Black Beauty

Black Beauty Fescue is more drought resistant

and less disease prone than any other grass variety previously available. This turfgrass possesses an invisible waxy coating covering the leaf surface of each grass blade, making it a naturally drought resistant grass.

After establishment, Black Beauty needs only approximately 1“ of water per week. In shady areas this grass will not need as much water. Black Beauty requires a low to medium nitrogen fertilizer in 3 applications throughout the growing season.

During the more aggressive growing months, this grass needs to be mowed once every 1 to 2 weeks.
